The purpose of the Friends of the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is to engage in fund-raising activities and provide volunteer time to support the mission of the Museum throughout the Cape Cod community. Recent fund-raising efforts have resulted in a number of major additions to the Museum, including:
Refurbishing Marshview Room
New archaeology laboratory
Donation to the Museum Endowment Fund
Supporting educational programs
Refurbishing "Bird Alley"
Renovating KidSummer Building
The Friends also provide monthly programs of interest to the museum community on such topics as the natural world or Cape Cod history. These programs are open to the public at a small fee.
June to December Old Mother West Wind Centennial The characters of Thornton Burgess including Peter Cottontail, Jimmy Skunk, Bobby Raccoon, Spotty the Turtle and many others. In collaboration with the Thornton Burgess Museum and the Cape Cod Art Museum.
