As most everyone knows, Mudflat Mania! is one of the most popular field walks at the Museum. "Participants of all ages, armed with pails and shovels, walk with volunteer naturalists to the mudflats of Cape Cod Bay. The eager seekers fondly known as Mudflat Maniacs look for and learn about marine invertebrate animals."
Next time you're at the Museum Gift Shop please review Mudflat Mania! - it's a great guide book resource with descriptions and photos of many of the animals found on Cape Cod. The book is easily carried in a pocket for fast reference and contains "Where am I?" information along with "Maniac Alert" highlights describing behavior to be aware of while observing the animals.
Mudflat Mania!: Exploring the ocean when the tide pulls out is dedicated to Dr. Claudia Kren, an avid naturalist and the program creator.
