Mr. Small shares his collection of birds this month in our Naturescape Gallery. He says: The work that I produce contains a narrative that streams from a conscious effort to blur the lines between natural history and pseudo science, creating a collection of work that represents a fictional expedition. My paintings, sculptures and various other collections work together as an installation, or can be seen as an individual puzzle piece, which gives a greater perspective of my views on the environment both past and present, and my connection to it. This connection to the environment is used as a means of story telling and exploration. My discoveries become the evidence of a fictional past journey retold, which has been derived from the accounts of real life explorers and natural historians.
