Lunch 'n Learn: Nature's Ambassador
Christie Lowrance will discuss the unique role in environmental protection and education that Cape Cod native and beloved children’s author Thornton Burgess played in influencing conservation and the environmental values of generations of children, including the story of how a children’s book helped pass the landmark 1918 Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and more!
Ms. Lowrance’s news and feature articles have appeared in the Boston Globe, Cape Cod Times, Barnstable Patriot, Cape Cod Life and many other publications. For many years she was a travel editor for Fodor’s Cape Cod, Insider’s Guide, and Cape Cod Travel Guide, and is a published poet and songwriter. As an adjunct instructor, Christie taught composition at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Cape Cod Community College. At present she is writing the biography of Dr. George F.
