What does computer “code” mean and how does it work?  Coding is the new literacy. Code is the instructional language humans write for computers to make computers do specific tasks. Students will begin an introductory journey into the exciting world of computer programming. Kids will learn in a fun, interactive environment using “Scratch”, a modern block-based programming language designed for their specific age range. No experience is required. After the class, kids can continue their exploration using the free Scratch program from home, see http://scratch.mit.edu. Scratch is developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab.
