Jack’s presentation will include some of the stranger and perhaps overlooked stories about the Cape from his 2 most recent books co-authored with Jim Coogan, Cape Cod Collected and Cape Odd.

Cape Cod Collected is a compilation of some of their best previously published tales covering sea captains, shipwrecks, lighthouses, enterprising landlubbers, heroes, heroines, odd characters and even a witch or two, edited and updated for a new generation of readers.

Cape Odd is a collection of unusual and overlooked stories about the Cape, touching on such subjects as earthquakes, waterspouts, mermaids, shark attacks, shipwrecks, accidents, crimes, religion, meteorites, odd folks, flying machines, and various other flotsam and jetsam.

Jack Sheedy is the author of seven books and hundreds of published articles and essays.     Since 1989, Jack has served on the writing team of the Barnstable Patriot's annual history supplement; Summerscape recognized five times by the New England Newspaper & Press Association for editorial excellence and is currently a weekly contributor to the newspaper.   He has lived in Dennis, MA for more than 30 years.
